Ralva Jane Paskett Mitchell was born April 12, 1916 in Grouse Creek, Utah a daughter of Sidney and Alice Myrtle Johnson Paskett.
Her brothers and sisters are: Parley Johnson, Arnold Raymond, Arthur Howard, Dorotha and Emma Myrtle.
She was reared and educated in Grouse Creek where she attended the Grouse Creek Elementary School. She attended the Box Elder High School. Ralva received her GED in 1960 and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1963. She went on to receive her Master’s Degree in Special Education in 1968 from Arizona State University. She taught special education in elementary schools.
On September 20, 1938 Ralva married James Addison Mitchell in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa LDS Temple. James died December 17, 1987.
Her children are: Theodore Roosevelt “Ted”, Sidney Frank “Sid” and Arthur Leonard “Art”.
She was a member of the LDS Church and had served as a Primary Teacher for over 50 years, in the Primary Presidency and as Organist. She served as a Seminary Teacher for five years and as Relief Society Organist. She served as a Stake Missionary in the Spanish Speaking Ward Music Department. She also served as Ward Choir Director, a Sunday School Teacher and Ward Family History Specialist and Instructor.
Ralva died on February 17, 1988 and is buried in the Green Acres Cemetery, Scottsdale Arizona.
