Augustus Ray (Gus) Carson

Augustus Ray (Gus) Carson was born on June 4, 1895, in Salem, Utah to George G. and Rebecca Adaline Bingham Carson.

He went to schools in the Salem area and served in an LDS Mission in the Northwestern States.

He was married to Margaret Beck Carson in 1914. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She later died suddenly in 1918 just a little over a year after Wanda was born. On May 10, 1922, he married Etta Sena Olsen Carson in the Salt Lake Temple. She later died in 1950.

He had the following children: Wanda Carson Miner (1917 – 1982), Carl A Carson (1929 – 1991), Allen, Carson, Daphene, Barbara, Hannah Marie Carson (1929 – 2013),

He was the co-owner of the Carson Brother’s Ranch located just north of the town of Grouse Creek. His live was devoted to range activities but he still maintained a home in Salem all his life.

Augustus Ray (Gus) Carson, 65, died Thursday, 7:50 A.M. at his ranch in Grouse Creek, Box Elder County, Utah. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. in the Salem, Utah LDS Second Ward and he is buried in the Salem City Cemetery.
