Hugh Roberts was born on June 19, 1886 in Huntington, Utah a son of John and Persis Minerva McKee Roberts.
Hugh had two brothers and two sisters: John Raymond, died at age eleven, Peter Aubrey, killed in an auto accident at age sixty-three, Harriet Jane and Bertha Sophia, both died as infants.
He had three half brothers, Henry Christopher Roberts, Frank Bryan Horsley and Robert Samuel Horsley who died at age six and was buried in Grouse Creek. He had three half sisters, Mary Elisa Laird, Persis Josephine Laird and Inez Horsley.
He came to Grouse Creek in 1904 and was a rancher.
On October 13, 1908, he married Louisa Caroline Kimber in Grouse Creek. The marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He had served as scout master and ward teacher in the Grouse Creek ward.
He passed away of natural causes on August 2, 1970, in the Cassia Memorial hospital in Burley, Idaho and was interred in the Grouse Creek Cemetery.
