Lorenzo was born at Rush Valley, Tooele County, Utah on June 29, 1866 a son of Lorenzo Dow and Mary Ann Clark Mecham.

He was known as Bill and also Bunks, he never married.

He worked as a sheep herder and rancher.

He died of cancer on March 15, 1930 and is buried in the Grouse Creek Utah Cemetery.

It should be noted that all records show a birth date in the year of 1868 but the headstone has 1866.
