Elizabeth Simpson was born on September 17, 1878 at Grouse Creek, Utah, a daughter of James Robert and Ellen Shaw Simpson.
Lizzie, who never married, had the following brothers and sisters: James Thomas, John William, Margaret, Samuel Shaw, Heber Chase, Mary and Isaac. She also had a half-brother, George (Kid) Blanthorn.
She was reared and educated in Grouse Creek. She spent all of her life here, except for the final ten years or so, since her mother died. She then made her home with her sisters and half-brother Kid Blanthorn.
Lizzie was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She acted as president of the YWMIA for many years, and was in the presidency of the Relief Society at one time. She was a teacher in the Sunday school for forty years.
Elizabeth Simpson, better known as Lizzie, died on February 1, 1954, at the home of her half brother George (Kid) Blanthorn, Logan, Utah, at the age of seventy-five after a long illness. She is buried in the Grouse Creek Cemetery.
